How Many Dudes? Dude Roles (A Role Map, Not a Power Ranking)

Why this is a role map, not a tier list

The official guidance is clear: launch balance can shift, and presenting a fixed numeric "tier list" would pretend the game ships stable power rankings it does not. Instead, here is a functional role map of Dudes by what they do, with the real stat priorities the developer's guide names.

Damage dealers

• Knight Dude — wants Toughness and Max HP; Crit is secondary. A frontline bruiser.
• Pirate Dude — wants high Evasion and Crit Chance to taunt often and dodge damage.
• Ranger Dude — after Hunter's Blade, stacks Crit Chance to fire waves of Magic Arrows.
• Wizard Dudes — fling fireballs when they move (with the right Relic).
• Hacker Dude — piles on Crit Chance to compile "Exploits"; a weird, high-skill damage engine.
• Mutant Dude — benefits from Cleave, Attack Power, and Attack Speed; healing is unaffected by Crit.

Tanks & survivors

• Electrician Dude — wants Attack Power and Run Speed; ships with the Circuit Breaker Cheat Death Relic.
• Vampire Dude — has the Bat Wings Cheat Death Relic and wants the Blood Bag Relic for sustain.
• Time Dude — can cheat death by Rewinding itself.
• Cowboy Dude — can lasso other Dudes out of danger (utility + peel).

Support & flex

• Medic Dude — flexible; with a General's boost or a Medical License it can tank or heal.
• General Dude — buffs others; enables off-role builds like a tanky Medic.
• Trooper Dude — with a Medical License becomes a healer.
• Ninja Dude — throw barrages of Shurikens; can be turned into stealth Thralls.
• Samurai Dude — pairs with Alien + Taser for burst synergy.
• Explorer, Druid, Warlock Dudes — each enables a signature Relic core (River Raft, Bear Knuckle, Shadowy Funnel).

Economy

• Business Dude — doubles your cash up to three times per run; the backbone of compounding economy builds.

How to use this

Pick roles that cover offense, defense, and economy, then give each Dude the stats and Relic its role wants. The "best" team is the one whose roles click together for your run — not a number on a list. Re-check after major patches.
