Why the Dudex index is longer than 42

The official Dude Type index also displays three entries outside the 42 Unique Family roster:

  • Regular Dude has Mob Mentality but is explicitly outside the six-Family Unique roster model.
  • Echo Dude is summoned by Quantum Dude's Quantum Echo.
  • Skeledude is summoned by Necrodude and by some Undead effects.

So a raw count of the Dudex index is not the same thing as the advertised count of 42 Unique Dudes across six Families.

What each Family is built around

The official Family pages describe broad themes rather than fixed classes. After each Family, use the needs tier to decide whether you still need Control, Sustain, Damage, or Economy — then open a launch team shell that uses those Dudes.

Launch ability examples

Current official ability text includes (names below link into the build shells that use them):

  • Finance — Dividend: each Finance Dude generates $3 at the end of each battle.
  • Knight — Taunting Presence: Taunts five nearby enemies every three seconds.
  • Medic — Triage: heals the three most-injured Roster Dudes after dealing a total of 50 damage.
  • Ninja — Shuriken Throw: a Direct Crit throws a Shuriken that bounces to damage two enemies.
  • Samurai — Swift Pursuit: dashes to the lowest-HP enemy every three seconds.
  • Paladin — #Blessed: reduces damage to two allies and transfers part of the remainder to the Paladin.
  • Cleric — Divine Pulse: creates a recurring healing area at the most-injured Roster Dude.
  • Ghost — Phase Shift: can equalize the healthiest and most-injured Roster Dudes, then heal both.

These descriptions replace older pre-launch summaries such as "Business Dude doubles cash." For build decisions, use the live Dudex text rather than names remembered from a demo.

How to use the roster page

Do not draft by Family label alone. Read the baseline Ability, identify whether the Dude supplies damage, control, sustain, amplification, repositioning, or economy, then check whether your current Relic pool supports that plan.
